About the tournament

ISTA Coaches and Teachers Seminar is a series of professional development events for volleyball coaches and teachers, designed to share knowledge, methodology, and modern volleyball practices. The program covers topics ranging from the first steps in volleyball and teaching individual technical skills to more advanced game principles, positions, rotations, tactics, and individual player development.

8 November 2026 SEMINAR No. 1 – BEGINNERS
“Methodology for Teaching the Fundamentals of Volleyball: Teaching Technical Skills and Adapting Them to Different Age Groups”

The seminar is designed for coaches and teachers who want to systematically and purposefully develop beginner volleyball players. The seminar will explore the characteristics of different age groups and their impact on the volleyball learning process, as well as methodologies for teaching the first technical skills — ball control, passing, serving, movement, and other fundamental abilities — and adapting them to different age groups.

Special attention will be given to the progressive development of technical and game-related skills, selecting appropriate exercises, and creating a safe and motivating learning environment.

24 January 2027 SEMINAR No. 2 – ADVANCED
“Modern Volleyball Methodology: International Experience, Playing Systems, and Coaching Decisions”

An advanced seminar designed for experienced coaches and teachers working with advanced players and teams. The seminar will present international coaching experience, with particular emphasis on the Italian volleyball school’s methodology and modern approaches to player and team development.

The seminar will cover different coaching methods, the selection of playing systems, tactical thinking, decision-making, and individual player development. During the practical session, coaches will have the opportunity to analyze and test different methodological approaches on the court and compare Lithuanian and international volleyball development practices.

6 May 2027 SEMINAR No. 3 – BEGINNERS
“Fundamentals of Volleyball: Rules, Positions, Rotations, and the First Principles of Team Play”

This seminar is designed for coaches and teachers who are beginning to work with young volleyball players. Participants will learn about the basic rules of volleyball, positions, court zones, player positioning, and rotation principles.

The focus will be on how to explain the basic structure of the game to children in a simple and systematic way, and how to progress from individual technical skills to the first principles of team play.

DAY PROGRAM
The seminar lasts 6 hours. Theoretical knowledge is combined with practical training and sports psychology:

1.5 hours theoretical session and methodology;
0.5 hours coffee break;
